What makes "spaghetti" matting different from regular anti-slip mats?
Unlike traditional solid-surface or ribbed mats, spaghetti matting features an open-coil, looped construction that resembles cooked spaghetti. This unique design allows water, oil, mud, and small debris to fall through the mat rather than pooling on top. As a result, the walking surface remains clean, dry, and slip-resistant even in the wettest or dirtiest environments. Regular mats often trap liquids and require frequent cleaning, while spaghetti matting is essentially self-cleaning and self-draining.
Can this mat be used outdoors in direct sunlight and rain?
Yes. The mat is manufactured with UV-stabilized PVC, which resists fading, cracking, and becoming brittle from prolonged sun exposure. It also handles rain, snow, and temperature variations from -20°C to +70°C (-4°F to +158°F). Because of its open design, rainwater drains through immediately, so puddles never form. For permanent outdoor installation in extreme climates (e.g., constant high heat or freezing winters), we recommend the heavy-duty 15mm or 16mm thickness for added durability.
